Mountain View Paint Horses was established in 2003. We selected our first brood mares after we researched homozygous black and white tobiano horses in the United States for eight years. We found two exceptional stallions in Colorado who are homozygous for the black and tobiano genes. We began to cross their lines to produce our herd.

In 2006 we were blessed by the addition of our APHA stallion, Smooth Jet Comet, to our herd. Comet is a 1996 Homozygous Stallion who is homozygous for both the tobiano and black genes. This means you can breed him to any mare and he will not produce a solid or sorrel colored foal. Comet always passes on his tobiano and black genes to his foals. He is available for breeding to outside mares and is standing at our ranch.

Mountain View Paint Horses specializes in black and white tobiano paint horses. Homozygous black and homozygous tobiano colts and fillies registered with the American Paint Horse Association are foaled at our ranch each year. APHA registered weanlings are available for sale each fall. Darren and Ginny Linza own and operate the MVPH ranch in Cotopaxi, Colorado, and welcome visitors anytime by appointment.
